Anxiety Cures Without Medication That are Easy to Apply

by Vlasta Kuster

Today, we can use number of natural anxiety cures which have been clinically shown to reduce anxiety, although typical treatment involves various medications in combination with psychotherapy.

We will look at a few ways to alleviate the symptoms and emotions associated with anxiety, particularly in its milder, more moderate forms.

The methods described below can be very helpful in promoting both physical and spiritual health and healing.

However, to permanently overcome anxiety disorder it is often necessary to dive deeper and I will talk about that, too, at the end of this article.

1. CBD

Industrial hemp is one of the most useful plants, as it can be processed and used in its entirety.

The buds, from which the substance known as CBD is extracted, are especially important.

CBD extract can be further processed into drops or tar that can be used to alleviate a wide variety of difficulties.

Although CBD is not yet officialy classed as a medicine, there are several scientific studies that indicate its efficacy in the reduction of both stress and anxiety.

2. Bach flower remedies

The originator of the Bach flower remedies was the physician and bacteriologist Edward Bach.

He developed a system of 38 flower solutions, each of which regulates a certain emotional condition.

Bach’s flower remedies are based on the recognition that healing at the emotional level affects the body as well. A healthy emotional life and balanced personality enable the body to find its own path to health.

The treatment is simple and can be performed by anyone. A mixture is prepared from the floral essences that corresponds to the individual’s current emotional state.

The proper dosage (2-4 drops) are placed under the tongue or in a glass of water with a dropper.

Aspen, for example, is the remedy for any fear whose cause can't be named.

Mimulus is the remedy for when we are anxious or afraid about something specific. Taking the remedy helps us overcome our fear and face it with courage.

3. Mindfulness - breathing anxiety cure that also doesn't need any medication

Mindfulness is the acceptance-oriented redirection of attention from your attention from your thoughts to your experience in the present moment.

Mindfulness is the acceptance-oriented redirection of attention from your attention from your thoughts to your experience in the present moment.

It is focused on the breath — inhaling and exhaling.

Once concentrated in this way, you can observe your thoughts and feelings come and go without getting rid of, analyzing or otherwise becoming involved with them.

Thoughts come and go, and you experimentally see that you are not your thoughts.

Thoughts are fleeting and ephemeral. Mindfulness involves observation without criticism and empathy towards oneself.

When you are overwhelmed with sadness or stress, you don’t take them personally, but rather learn to look at them as dark clouds in the sky that you can regard with benevolent curiosity as they float by.

Mindfulness actually enables you to catch negative thought patterns before they can drag you down into an ever-intensifying emotional vortex. This initiates a process whereby you regain control over your life.

Meditation for increased mindfulness is simple and can be used by anyone to discover the inherent joy of life.

It can also keep normal feelings of anxiety, tension and sadness from spinning out of control and burgeoning into a long period of unhappiness and exhaustion.

Over time, mindfulness leads to long-term changes in mood and happiness levels.

Scientific studies show that anxiety, depression and irritability all decrease with regular meditation.

Mindfulness has a positive effect on the mental patterns that cause everyday anxiety, stress, depression and irritability, such that they more readily dissipate when they occur.

4. Emotional Freedom Techniques

The next anxiety cure without any medication that you can practice on a daily basis, are the Emotional Freedom Techniques. They were developed by engineer Gary Craig and are based on the recognition that the causes of all negative emotional states are disturbances in the body’s energy system.

The basic process involves tapping with the fingers on certain acupuncture points of the body.

Tapping is done on eight different acupuncture points while any negative emotions felt are described aloud.

The words used during the tapping are intended to promote focusing on the difficulty being treated. In this way, we get in tune with the problem and stimulate the flow of energy, thereby balancing the energy system.

Even if the issue is of an emotional nature, it dissolves, and vice-versa: If we resolve an emotional problem, this will also be reflected in the health of the body.

If your difficulty is relatively minor, you can learn the techniques of EFT and perform the treatment on yourself.

If your anxiety is pronounced, on the other hand, you will need someone who can help you work through everything unpleasant that has been etched into your body, mind and spirit.

However, to permanently overcome anxiety disorder it is often necessary to dive deeper and, with the aid of EFT, change the personality characteristics that render us vulnerable, such as

  • extreme emotional sensitivity,
  • negative or unstable self-image,
  • insufficient personal boundaries, or
  • perfectionism.

Many times it’s not enough to change things externally; we have to get to our unconscious patters and change the structure of our personality.

The best changes are those that happen from the inside out, as these alone produce lasting results.

It is thus necessary to undertake some kind of general mental cleansing, so to speak, and, through the use of EFT, to eradicate the discomfort of past negative experiences...

...and live from a place of greater strength and resilience. So that you are no longer thrown off balance by every negative situation that occurs.

In this we do by altering your unconscious patterns so that you feel worthy enough to say no, and will no longer strive for an unachievable perfection.

This change in unconscious patterns allows you to manage the stressful events of everyday life and remain calm in spite of the various and sundry surprises life regularly serves up.

And after completing a three-month course of EFT, you will no longer experience anxiety, and will discover a new self-confidence and trust in life.

Anxiety is a force that compels you to make a change. In the end you may even be grateful you went through it, because it was the impetus that pushed you to work on yourself for your own personal and spiritual growth.

This path heals anxiety without medication and leads you to live more fully and with greater satisfaction.

And on it you are never alone.

There are many people working to change their lives and transform their negative mental and emotional patters into positive ones, and all that’s ever needed is the strength to take the next step.

Once you’re permanently free of anxiety, the most valuable thing of all will be how proud you are at who you’ve become.
