Fighting Anxiety with EFT Therapy -  3 Important Components of Successful Treatment

by Vlasta Kuster

Fighting anxiety with EFT therapy is a novelty on the global market. It combines combining the knowledge of many different therapies developed in the Western world.with the components of wisdom from the eastern part of our planet.

In this article, I want to present three important aspects of EFT therapy, which make it so unique and ultimately effective.

1st Component: EFT therapy against anxiety contains firstly, a thorough conversation

Before starting to tap against anxiety, an EFT therapist must create a complete picture of his client.

Before starting to tap, an EFT therapist must create a complete picture of his client.

The introductory conversation must bring 3 important pieces of information:

  • How anxiety shows with a particular client, in what situations anxiety occurs, to what extent, what his symptoms are.

How long has the client already been encountering anxiety and what impact anxiety has on the quality of his everyday life, or where and how anxiety hinders him in everyday situation.
  • What the key stressful events that could potentially contribute to the client’s anxiety are.

The most common stress events that have a strong impact on client’s anxiety are usually:

  1. death of a close person,
  2. serious illness of the closest people,
  3.  situations in which the client has suffered life threatening.

These may be some major business failures, increased workplace problems, more serious health issues..

  • What the constraining subconscious beliefs are that stimulate the client to the occurrence of anxiety. The most common subconscious beliefs that lead to anxiety are:
  1. I'm not good enough,
  2. I'm not worth it,
  3. I have to be perfect,
  4. I have to please everyone,
  5. my needs are irrelevant...

2nd Component: EFT therapy contains tapping on acupuncture points on the head and on the upper part of the body

These are that points that originate in the acupuncture and through which we can access the energy system of our body.

When we find the key specific events, they need to be processed in such a way that they become neutral.

This means that when we think of them, we do not feel emotional nor physical discomfort any more.

Namely, with the help of EFT technique, painful memories are transformed in such a way that we can erase emotional or physical discomfort, but we can not erase the memory itself.

In order to overcome the anxiety with EFT therapy, it is necessary to somehow "erase" the negative emotions that were, with specific painful events, imprinted in the body.

When enough stressful events from life are "processed", we achieve that the body's energy system is released so much that anxiety simply disappears.

In actual reality of the process of EFT therapy, we revive the negative event in mind, and at the same time tap with the fingers on the acupuncture points on our head and the upper part of our body.

In a very short time the intensity of negative feelings falls, the memory becomes neutral, which means that when we think of it, we do not feel any sadness, anger, fears.

The person calms down, (s)he feels a relief and a really strong internal change.

3rd Component of Fighting Anxiety with EFT  therapy: we wish to obtain measurable results

When the EFT therapist processes with the client the most difficult events from the client's life, (s)he has to tackle the changing of the client’s limiting subconscious beliefs.

Finally, as an effect of EFT therapy, all the negative symptoms must also disappear.

The EFT therapist is constantly monitoring the results.

EFT therapy

  • usually lasts for 3 months and during this time,
  • the EFT therapist records progress weekly, and particularly those areas that have not yet improved.

The process of fighting anxiety with EFT therapy is therefore a highly controlled process in which the EFT therapist intensively studies the client’s psycho. At each meeting makes an important shift towards the client’s inner peace and inner joy.

The changes are very deep, permanent and immediately recognized in the daily life of the client.

The latter feels that the

  • symptoms of anxiety are disappearing,
  • gains his/her self-esteem,
  • resolves insomnia,
  • restlessness and anxiety.
