How to Get Quick Anxiety Relief in Two Easy Ways

In order to achieve anxiety relief quickly you don't actually need any special tools or medicine. You can simply use your fingers and your voice.

An anxiety or panic attack is a sudden onset of powerful feelings of terror that show up without warning. It can occur at any time, even during sleep.
The experience of a panic attack is so overwhelming that people think they are dying, losing their minds, or having a heart attack.

Because anxiety attacks strike completely unexpectedly, they arouse even more intense fear. These highly charged emotions, however, have nothing whatever to do with the present situation.

Panic attacks generally last a few minutes, although they can continue for up to half and hour, and they range in frequency from several times a day to only a few times over the course of a lifetime.

Those who have had the experience once or a few times fear having it again, leading to the so-called fear of fear.

The worst thing about anxiety attacks is their unpredictability.

And what’s the easiest way to calm an anxiety attack?

During the attack, I recommend a simple application of the EFT technique.

Tap the acupuncture points along the face and upper body. This will calm the body, and ameliorate negative thoughts and emotions.

Again, panic attacks are unrelated to the situation in which they occur; current circumstances can only act as the trigger, never as the cause.

The cause is always to be found in the past.

Many people have difficulty understanding this, since the attack seems to come out of the blue.

But in fact, it takes many hard days (or years) to set the stage for it. Imagine that every difficult moment you’ve experienced in this life has left an energy blot in your body. Instead of your body’s energy flowing freely, it encounters blockages.

Every stressful event creates some emotional and physical distress, whether it be fear, anger or sadness, and each of these emotions leaves a trace in the body, though you aren’t aware of it.

And this goes on day after day and week after week, month after month and year after year, until the limit is reached and the body’s energy system can no longer handle it.

All the old feelings you once felt are stored in you. And when they boil over, the result is what we call an anxiety attack.

Anxiety attacks can be neutralized in two ways:

1. Get Quick Anxiety Relief by Tapping on Acupuncture Points

The easiest way to immediately calm the body is to intervene in its energy system.

And because the acupuncture points are the gateways into that system, a simple technique of tapping along those points can be used to diffuse a panic attack and gradually calm the body down.

Using two or three fingers of the left or right hand, tap each point 3-4 times and then move on to the next as illustrated in the accompanying picture.

Continue tapping until the body relaxes, whether this is five minutes or half an hour.

You can do this sitting or lying down.

Concentrate fully on your feelings and observe everything that is happening in your body.

Don’t run from it, and don’t try to distract yourself. Just be there, present, feeling the full weight of the fear and continuing to tap.

Gradually the panic will subside.

2. Tell yourself you’re safe

While tapping, simultaneously repeat to yourself that you are safe.

Say again and again: ‘‘I’m safe, I’m safe, I’m safe.’’

These words will be most effective during the attack, as the body will be sending you the message that you’re seriously threatened or are going to lose you mind — or your life.

By tapping, you calm your body; by reassuring yourself that you’re safe, you calm your feelings.

Anxiety attacks occur due to stress that has accumulated over a long period of time. By tapping and repeatedly affirming your safety, you allow the attack to pass.
